Review
Horse meat was commonly eaten during the early history of the domesticated horse but its use decreased during the Roman era and has almost ceased during Christian time. Today horse meat is eaten mainly in France, Italy, Spain and on Iceland. However, horse meat is often included in meat products and may also appear on restaurant menues as beef. Six out of 12 beef skin test positive atopic children where also positive to horse meat.
