Lysine

Overview

Lysine is found in foods that contain protein and is also available over the counter as a dietary supplement. It is used for many reasons, but its benefits are not well defined. Lysine is usually well tolerated. Before taking lysine, tell your health care provider about any health conditions you have or medicines you are taking.
